Pastor Luis & Crystal Campos

After growing up in a broken home in San Diego, California, Pastor Luis Campos never imagined that one day he would be completely transformed and healed from the pain of his childhood. Raised in a home marked by divorce, he endured abuse from his stepfather and experienced deep emotional wounds that left him searching for direction and purpose. As a young man, he found himself caught in a lifestyle filled with partying, alcohol, and the wrong influences, feeling lost and without hope.  

But everything changed when Pastor Luis had a divine encounter with Jesus Christ in 2013. In a moment that would forever alter the course of his life, he surrendered his heart to the Lord and experienced a radical transformation. The same God who rescued him from addiction and brokenness began restoring every area of his life, healing the wounds of his past and filling him with a new purpose.

For over a decade, Pastor Luis has faithfully responded to the calling God placed on his life to reach this generation, comfort the brokenhearted, and set the captives free. He began serving in ministry in San Diego, building and strengthening ministries from the ground up while ministering to people of all ages. Through the power of Jesus Christ, he witnessed countless lives transformed and restored. Pastor Luis has pursued biblical training, earning a degree from Bible college, further equipping him to fulfill God’s calling.

Alongside him is his wife and co-pastor, Pastor Crystal Campos. Pastor Crystal grew up in a pastoral home, raised by parents who faithfully served in ministry. From a young age she developed a deep love for the church, for serving people, and for the presence of God. Watching her parents shepherd and care for others helped shape her heart for ministry and prepared her for the calling God would later place on her life. Pastor Crystal also holds two academic degrees and brings wisdom, leadership, and compassion into the ministry she shares with her husband. 
Together, Pastors Luis and Crystal bring over a decade of ministry experience and share a deep passion to see lives transformed through the power of Jesus Christ. They are also the proud parents of two beautiful children who faithfully love and serve the Lord.

After much prayer and seeking the Lord, God spoke clearly to Pastors Luis and Crystal to plant a church in San Diego based on the promise found in Isaiah 61:1—to bring good news to the poor, comfort the brokenhearted, and proclaim freedom for the captives. 

On January 2025, Rhema Church San Diego was born. The name “Rhema” comes from the Greek word meaning “spoken word.” Pastors Luis and Crystal believe this church was birthed out of a word directly spoken by God. With faith and obedience, they began the church in their living room with just nine people, believing God would build a Spirit-filled church where people could encounter His presence and experience true transformation.

From the very beginning, people from all walks of life began gathering weekly, hungry for the presence of God. Since that day, the favor of the Lord has been upon Rhema Church. What started as a small gathering has quickly grown into a spiritual house where people experience supernatural encounters with God.

Rhema Church stands on a foundation of faith, prayer, and discipleship. The heart of the church is to spread the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, make disciples, and equip believers to impact their families, neighborhoods, and communities. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Rhema Church has already witnessed miracles, signs, and powerful testimonies of lives being transformed.

Pastor Luis carries a bold vision for the future. He believes a day is coming when Rhema Church will see many campuses spread throughout San Diego and church plants launched across the world spreading the vision of Rhema: to bring good news to the poor, comfort the brokenhearted, set the captives free, save souls, and make disciples.

Pastors Luis and Crystal firmly believe that the same God who spoke Rhema Church into existence is the same God who speaks every time His people gather. As the church continues to grow, they remain convinced that the years ahead will be even greater than the years behind and that the best days of Rhema Church are still to come.
